We are thrilled to have Dina Belaia returning as our treasured Garlic Face Painter at the Toronto Garlic Festival! Dina Belaia is a practicing artist who works as an illustrator, graphic designer, gallery exhibiting fine artist and a muralist. She is an Associate member of the Federation of Canadian Artists. In addition to fine art, she enhances peoples’ celebrations by face / body painting and caricature drawing. When Dina paints on human faces, she uses the safest cosmetic supplies; her paints and glitters will never bother even the youngest models (who may lick those supplies, or rub right into their eyes). Being an artist allows Dina to easily adapt for the most unusual themes and imagery, no matter how exotic the party may be.Dina will be providing free garlic-themed face painting and garlic caricatures at Toronto Garlic Festival.

About Bitty-Bat

Bitty-Bat (pictured above)  is a mischievous bat-like creature who has charmed audiences through performances at Toronto Sketchfest, Toronto Fringe, the Montreal Clown Festival and Edinburgh Fringe. This enigmatic character is the creation of Toronto-based actor and clown Emily Jeffers, who drew inspiration from the 1922 film Nosferatu, dancer Loie Fuller, the “Bat Child Found in Cave” from the Weekly World News, and other influences to develop Bitty-Bat’s unique look. Although she is usually a creature of few words, Bitty-Bat is delighted to speak (or squeak) as emcee at the Toronto Garlic Festival’s Vampire Costume Contest. Our Story: We make Toum — the bold, fluffy Lebanese garlic dip — now in four mouthwatering flavours: Original, Basil, Buffalo, and our newest addition, Chipotle. At its heart is our signature recipe: just four simple ingredients — fresh garlic, fresh lemon juice, oil, and salt. That’s it. And during Ontario’s garlic season, we take it up a notch by sourcing our garlic locally from the incredible Brant County Garlic Company. We’re proud to support local farmers, and even prouder to bring that flavour to your table. Catch us again this year at the Ontario Garlic Festival — it’s going to be garlicky and glorious.

Our Story: From the moment we opened in November 2024, sourcing our ingredients sustainably and locally has been a value deeply rooted in everything we do at louf. We work closely with farmers, brewers, and distillers across Ontario to bring in seasonal produce, ethically raised meat, and sustainable products that shape everything from the dishes we serve to the cocktails we craft. They are paired with Palestinian sourced imports such as olive oil, spices, and za’atar, creating a menu that bridges cultures and brings together the flavours of Palestine with the richness of Canada. Every ingredient we source from Ontario reflects a connection to the communities around us, and a shared commitment to nourishing one another. “I very much believe that louf has its place among all the restaurants in Toronto, bringing together the flavours of Palestine, the stories of Palestine, and the exceptional products that we are sourcing in Ontario as well as from Palestine,” said Chef Fadi Kattan.
