Are you a recent grad or senior student in social media, event marketing, or digital communications looking for a hands-on, real-world opportunity? The Toronto Garlic Festival is hiring a Social Media Representative to lead our online presence in the lead-up to our annual Toronto Garlic Festival on Sunday, September 28, 2025. This is an excellent opportunity for someone building their portfolio or looking to make industry connections. The work can be done remotely, including weekly team meetings.
Project Start/End:
July 30 or sooner to Oct 4, 2025. Part time, flexible hours, work remotely.

The Toronto Garlic Festival is a not-for-profit event that celebrates Ontario garlic and its many cultural, culinary, and health connections. The festival attracts 10,000 visitors and features 70+ vendors, chefs, speakers, musicians, contests, and more.

The Opportunity:
A creative, reliable individual who knows how to make content that pops — especially on Instagram and Facebook, and who’s familiar with TikTok and Twitter strategies.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Creating 80–100 original posts and/or collaborations (mix of feed posts, reels, and stories)Designing content for each festival vendor, performer, and speaker
- Creating posts to highlight festival sponsors and partners
- Running 2–3 contests, including a planned collab with blogTO
- Helping build up our TikTok account and experiment with formats
- Driving anticipation, engagement, and ticket-free attendance in the weeks leading up to the festival
- Analysis of year-over-year views/impressions on insta & fb
- Prepare final report
- We’ll provide plenty of direction and ideas, but we’re also looking for someone who can run with it and bring their own creative spark.
Ideal Candidate:
- Senior student or recent grad in social media, marketing or communications
- Familiar with creating video content and reels
- Familiar with rules and best practices
- Skilled with Instagram and Facebook best practices
- Has a strong creative voice and visual storytelling ability
- Reliable and meets deadlines
- We’ll share our current social media strategy, and ask you for input and suggested changes.
Compensation:
$1,800.00 Cdn.
