Tartar Sauce with Homemade Dill Pickle

Serve with Fish Cakes The secret to a stellar tartar sauce is to use homemade dill pickles. The pickles, and the brine, made with mulled seasonings, is remarkably better tasting than a store-bought pickle.

  • 250 ml Mayonnaise
  • 80 ml Dill Pickle finely chopped
  • 1-2 cloves Ontario garlic minced
  • 15 ml Capers chopped
  • 10 ml Lemon juice
  • 5 ml Paprika


  • Combine ingredients in a bowl
  • Add sea salt and fresh ground black pepper to taste
  • Refrigerate, covered until use
